*PR sample, sent to me in exchange for an honest review – all opinions are my own*
Hi everyone!
I wanted to wait a few days before publishing this in case people hadn’t received their boxes yet – I didn’t want to spoil anyone’s surprises!
I have never tried a nail subscription box before so I was thrilled at the opportunity to review one for Meebox!
Before receiving the box, all I knew is that the theme was Boho and that it was slightly special due to it being Meebox’s first birthday box!
So let’s take a look at the goodies:
- Grape Escape nail polish remover (acetone free) by Meebox (RRP £3)
- Cuccio Prince I’ve Been Gone (RRP £7.95)
- Zoya Aggie (RRP £11.70)
- Barry M Greenberry Gelly (RRP £3.99)
- Pot of nail foil by Miss Cat Nails (RRP £2.49)
- Silver midi ring -not pictured (RRP £10.99)
So when I first saw the box it didn’t really shout boho to me and I did struggle to see how the colours would come together in a nail art design.
However, I did manage to come up with something so keep your eyes peeled for that post – coming soon!
For now though, please read on to find out what I thought of the products!
I was thrilled to see the Grape Escape nail polish remover as it states it is acetone free and grape and raspberry scented. Win!
I did use it before taking photos which is why my bottle looks half empty and smudged (sorry!). It did remove my polish quickly and cleanly but boy did it dry out my skin and nails!
I really wasn’t impressed by that and so I won’t be using it again. I didn’t really like the scent either – it was too overpowering.
Now onto the polish. I am pleased to say I don’t already own any of the 3 polishes! I am really thrilled to now own Barry M Greenberry and my very first Zoya polish! Cuccio is not a brand I know much about – but it’s always nice to be introduced to a new brand.
The first polish I’m showing you is Barry M Greenberry. This is a gorgeous mint green creme. I used 2 coats, no topcoat. It’s formula was thick but easy to work with. So pretty!
Next up is Zoya Aggie. As I have never tried Zoya before I didn’t know what to expect.
In the bottle, Aggie is a gold to teal duochrome and looks very pretty and mermaid like!
On the nail and in the shade (!) I only managed to see a teeny bit of the colour shift:
However, in direct light, that teal shift is completely lost on the nail and it ends up just looking like your run of the mill, gold shimmer polish. Such a shame! It’s pretty but not really very exciting.
I used 2 coats no topcoat for my swatch. Aggie is opaque in 2 coats but it does have a thin, runny formula.
Last up is Prince I’ve Been Gone by Cuccio.
This deep teal creme is glossy, vampy and has a lovely formula. I really like it but I’m not sure it’s suits me as I have such pale skin. I think it would look lovely with a glitter gradient during party season!
This Meebox also had an extra surprise in the form of a teeny silver midi ring. I can’t show you mine as it seems to have gone missing (the words cheeky toddler spring to mind!)! If it turns up I’ll update this post!
Overall my first experience with Meebox was a pleasant one, I liked the products (aside from the polish remover) and think the surprise element of a subscription box is really fun. I was really pleased that I didn’t already own any of the polishes. However, I struggled to see how the polishes connected to the Boho theme.
I know this isn’t the norm with Meebox as previous months have looked awesome – last months in particular had a great theme and products which matched it perfectly.
I would definitely try Meebox again and I’m already wondering what the next theme will be!
Meebox is £20 per month and you can sign up here. A typical box will contain 3 polishes and tools/treatments. Meebox also offer free delivery!
Look out for my nail art post featuring the products from the August Meebox.

Wow Zoya is expensive in the UK! Love the box though, fits the theme well
Such a great review! I can’t really see the theme either, but I love the polishes and have a mani idea so I’m just going to roll with it haha! x
Yeah I know what you mean! Thanks for reading X
These are all lovely shades, you wear them well. 🙂
Prince I’ve been home is super pretty!

Even though it might not have fit the theme, that dark green? SWOON
I have Zoya Aggie and I love it. That Barry M polish is gorgeous a well!
That’s so awesome that you got to try three brands you’ve never used before! I wish I had these three polishes, because I feel like they would make an incredible smoosh manicure haha!
Yes! I totally agree and did actually want to try a smoosh mani with them!x
Bummer about the remover! You’d think with it being acetone free it wouldn’t have the drying out effect, and Id love to find a remover that didn’t smell like remover, but a scent Id actually like. Cant wait to see the nail art you came up with!
I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Looks like a great box, all brands I love!!
I know, I’m so annoyed about the remover!x
I find this box really nice and worth the price! My favourite shade is that Barry M, how awesome!
I stalk Meebox’s Instagram and I always am looking for them to ship to the US. That Barry M is gorgeous!
Meebox contents this month are too tempting. Such amazing products. <3
I need Greenberry!! Love that color!
Great review hun, I agree with you completely I couldn’t see the boho theme in this box. But the product did work better together than I thought they would x
