*I bought this, all opinions stated are my own*
Hi everyone
Today I have for you my swatches and review of the new Barry M Frosted Cupcakes collection.
This gorgeous pastel collection is inspired by sweet treats – hence the adorable afternoon tea related names!
What’s special about these polishes is that they are all packed with pretty flakies.
Now I’m not always the biggest flakie fan, but I think Barry M have got it just right with this collection. The overall finish of the polishes really does look like sugary cake frosting – yum!
All 4 colours had a very similar formula – thick but easy to work with. Clean up was very minimal which is always a bonus!
I used 2 coats and no topcoat for my swatches with the exception of Blue Velvet where I used 3.
So onto the swatches!
First up is Marshmallow which is a lovely nude shade. I think it would be stunning as a bridal manicure! Very classy.
As you can see, the shimmery flakies peep through the polish creating just the right amount of sparkle.
I’m thinking I should have used 3 coats of this one, but I quite like how 2 coats looked on me.
Next up I’m showing you Earl Grey. This really is the most pretty light grey polish I own!
The flakies take it to another level and really make the colour look quite silvery on the nail.
The third shade I’m showing you is Strawberries and Cream.
I would say this is too much of a muted pastel pink to be reminiscent of strawberries and cream – it reminds me more of strawberry yoghurt!
It’s a cute name though and makes me crave Victoria Sponge cake!
Last up in the collection is my absolute favourite – Blue Velvet.
The name had me googling ‘Blue Velvet Cake’ and now it’s all I want to eat!!
Again, the name isn’t really right for the shade of blue but oh how I love this polish!
As you may know, I’m obsessed with icy, pastel blues and therefore this polish really is a winner in my eyes!
The subtle barely there blue base is gorgeous on its own, but those flakes bring it to life with just the right amount of shimmer.
I really love this collection from Barry M. I’m glad that we have finally seen something a bit different from the brand.
The colours are perfect for spring time and are neutral enough to be totally office appropriate.
You can find the Frosted Cupcakes collection in Boots and Superdrug Stores. They are also available on the Barry M website.
What do you think of these? Are you a fan of pastels?
Thanks for stopping by!

Ooh your swatches are lovely and have made me want to dig my own ones out and play with them again. I’m so glad you love Blue Velvet, it is a stunner.

Thankyou Vicky! They really are lovely, I think I’ll use them a lot as undies for stamping x
Wow, these are really pretty!! I could see myself wearing all of these!
Strawberries and Cream is perfection!!
I love Blue Velet, a beautiful light baby blue pastel is always a winner in my book!
Earl Grey and Strawberries & Cream are pretty shades 🙂
I am no flakies lovers but can I say I would buy such a collection only for the names?
Haha I like your thinking!
Lovely! I especially love Earl Grey, the flakies come out so gorgeously!
Blue Velvet is my favorite of these, but I really love how delicate these look!
These are so gorgeous on you!! x
