I am so excited to share this post with you!
I was desperate to get my hands on some of the Kyle Jenner Sinful Colors polishes as soon as I saw swatches of them floating about on Instagram. But at the time Sinful Colors were unavailable in the UK.
So when I went to Vegas in May, I dragged my hubby to every Walgreens I could find, on my quest to find them. But to my dismay none of the stores had them! ☹️
So I was really thrilled when I returned home and discovered that Superdrug were going to be selling some of the Kylie collection.
After waiting patiently for weeks I was finally able to pick up 3 of the shades I wanted which are from the Trend Matters Range (get the pun??!). These are described as a selection of ‘pure satin mattes’.
First up is Kurtsey which is described as a demi-matte finish. I am not sure that’s entirely accurate as it dries down quite glossy. Kurtsey is a beautiful periwinkle shade with a lovely gold shimmer.
Sadly the golden shimmer doesn’t translate well onto the nail but you can see it in the bottle as per the above picture.
I used 2 coats for my swatch, formula wise it was easy to work with and gave great coverage.
The second shade I’m showing you is Butterkup. This creamy pastel yellow reminds me of banana milkshakes. Yum.
Butterkup is one of the shimmer matte polishes and I think that is a perfect description for this one. It dries down to a lovely matte finish with a hint of sparkle from tiny gold microglitter.
This doesn’t show up well in photos but looks stunning on the nail IRL!
I had to use 3 coats for my swatch as there were a few bald patches after 2 coats. The formula was thick and tricky to work with. I think it’s worth it though as it’s such a pretty polish.
I’m not normally a big fan of matte polishes but I love the waxy finish of Butterkup. Such a lovely summer shade.
The last polish I’m showing you in this post is Kool as a Kukumber. I adore the name and the polish totally reminds me of the flesh of a cucumber. Refreshing!
This beautiful pastel green has the same waxy finish and gold microglitter as Butterkup. I love it!
Again, the shimmer doesn’t translate well in photos but it looks lovely IRL. Like Butterkup, it’s perfect for sunny summer days.
I used 2 coats for my swatch and the formula was fairly easy to work with – it’s a little runny so watch out for that.
Overall I’m so glad I have these polishes, the colours and finishes are pretty unique to my stash and I can’t wait to use them as undies for stamping!
I also think they would look lovely with a glossy topcoat. I purposely didn’t try them with topcoat as I have a tendency to splash topcoat over EVERYTHING. I wanted to show these off in the way they were intended.
Sinful Colours are only £3 which I think is a real bargain considering their great quality.
The Trend Matters collection is available in selected Superdrug stores and on the Superdrug website
