Hi everyone
So it’s St George’s Day here in England.
It’s not as widely celebrated like other Saint Days (St Paddys day springs to mind!!), so I don’t really know much about it.
But I do know that it’s a day for remembering the bravery of the patron saint of England, Saint George. Legend has it that he slayed a dragon and rescued a beautiful Princess! 23 April is said to be the day that he died.
Sadly, my beloved Grandad also passed away on the 23 April and so St George’s Day is always extra poignant for me. This year marks 11 years since I lost my Grandad and I still think of him pretty much every day.
So I thought I would do some St George’s Day nails this year as a way of remembering my Grandad.
I started out with 2 coats of Barry M Island Fever (red) and Cotton (white) on alternate nails. Once dry, I applied a coat of Barry M Ruby Slippers over the red nails to create a pretty, glittery look.
On my ring finger I painted a cross using Island Fever to signify the English flag. As you can see, my freehand skills leave much to be desired!
On my pointer finger I stamped a rose image from Born Pretty Store plate BPL-024 using my red BPS stamping polish.
Once everything was dry I sealed it all in with my usual Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat.
I really like how these turned out and it’s nice looking down at my nails and remembering my lovely Grandad.
Thanks for stopping by.

These are completely gorgeous <3
This is so beautiful! I also miss my grandfather terribly – he died the same year as yours.
Love this mani. That red is great!
Thankyou. Sorry to hear you have also suffered the loss of a grandparent – it’s really tough isn’t it x
Thanks a lot!
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous mani and such a nice tribute to your grandad. I can’t believe I missed doing St. George’s nails, I’m so bad.

Thankyou Vicky. I never used to do themed nails but I’m more into it this year x
