Hi everyone
Hope you had an enjoyable festive period. Mine was full on but I really enjoyed it.
I had all my family over on Christmas Day, and I cooked everyone Christmas dinner!
It was the first time we have all been together on Christmas Day in years, so it was a brilliant day.
A few days before Christmas, a surprise parcel popped through my door from Barry M.
Inside was a bottle of their new Crackle Effect nail paint in Silver! Now, those of us who have been part of the nail game for a while will remember when crackle topcoats were popular the first time around!
I myself was the proud owner of a few of the OPI ones, but the only one I really liked was the silver. But the novelty did eventually wear off for me and I haven’t used one in years.
So I felt pretty nostalgic when I heard that Barry M were re-releasing a crackle effect nail paint. And I was pretty excited when I got my surprise sample in the post 🤩.

So onto the swatch. I used a base coat of Barry M Black Forest Gelly and waited for it to dry.
I then applied a generous layer of the silver crackle effect and waited for the magic to happen!

As it dries, the crackle effect begins to appear, as the polish separates and creates little textured clusters on the nail. Voila! Instant nail art!

It does dry down with quite a textured finish but that doesn’t bother me.
What is fun about these crackle topcoats is that anyone can easily create a nail art look without any fancy tools or special skills. The look I’ve created for example would be fun for a New Year’s Eve mani. ✨🤩
What do you think of Crackle Effect nail paints? Are they fun or a bit pointless?
This Barry M Crackle Effect nail paint is an online exclusive which you can purchase here for £3.99! It’s also good to note that it is vegan and cruelty free.
Thanks for stopping by!

Like magnetic polishes I wasn’t keen on crackle at first, I found after a while the polish went thick and gloopy. But love the effect x
It’s funny how trends cycle! Crackle is coming back!
I remember when crackle first became a thing. I tried it, didn’t care for it, but loved how it looked on others. This mani would be perfect for the holidays!
