I’m so excited to show you these new Barry M polishes which were sent to me for review!
When I found out that these were Mermaid themed I literally couldn’t wait to get them on my nails.
All four polishes in the collection are beautiful duochromes and boy do they look pretty in the bottles!
As the name indicates, this is a sea themed collection and the polishes are named after sea creatures. Mermaids also totally spring to mind!
These gorgeous bottles are adorned with such cute caps. They are white with metallic blue sea creatures emblazoned on them. Love!
So onto the swatches.
I’ll begin by saying that these polishes all have beautiful formulas which glide on the nail with such ease.
All four polishes are shifty and shimmery and so eye catching.
They are slightly on the sheer side, but don’t worry as they are opaque in 2-3 coats. They are so beautiful that the extra coat is totally worth it!
First up we have Angelfish which is the most delicate of the four shades.
It’s a stunning peachy nude with an amazing silver iridescent shift. It’s fairly sheer but is opaque in 3 coats.
So classy. So subtle and, with wedding season approaching, could definitely be a bridal manicure.
Next up is Pinktail. This eye catching salmon pink flashes gold when it catches the light.
Opaque in 2 coats, Pinktail looks like a sunset on the nail. It just screams holidays to me. It’s got me dreaming of sandy beaches and long lazy summer days.
The third polish in this fishy collection is Jellyfish.
This gorgeous lavender polish shifts between turquoise and pink and is so stunning. It can totally be a Unicorn Polish aswell as a jellyfish!
I used 2 coats for my swatch.
And finally I’m showing you the very beautiful Butterfly fish.
This primary colour in this polish is sky blue, but oh the duochrome! It flashes hot pink to purple and orange and is just stunning. Wow.
Looking at my pics I should have used 3 coats instead of 2, but I quite like a bit of visible nail line sometimes.
Obviously I had to try them all over black and white to see what they looked like – I wasn’t disappointed!
Jellyfish looks incredible when applied over a black or white base! It’s totally transformed and looks like 2 different polishes.
Over white it looks so Unicorn like. Stunning. Over black the turquoise shift shimmers so brightly.
Angelfish is really transformed when shown over black – it looks like a silvery-blue. Gorgeous.
It also looks really pretty over a white base.
I also tried Pinktail and Butterflyfish over white and black – again the results were beautiful, especially over black.
A lovely purple pink shade pops out of Butterflyfish while Pinktail turns a lovely metallic green.
As you can probably tell, I adore this collection.
It’s so on-trend and the quality and formula of the polishes is fantastic.
I’m so glad to have this beautiful, versatile collection in my stash. I know I’ll be reaching for all of the shades time and time again.
The Under The Sea collection is available now on the Barry M website.
Thanks for stopping by!
