Here I am again with some exciting new products from Barry M!
This time we have 6 brand new neon polishes which will be amazing in the summer!
The Hi Vis neon range is comprised of 6 sheer neons which are designed to be layered over a white polish in order to maximise the neon effect.
I’ve included below a quick and dirty one coat swatch of each polish on their own with no undies, so you can see how sheer they are.
For my swatches I started with a base of Barry Cotton (a white creme) and let it dry. I then applied 2-3 coats of the neon. Formula wise they are fairly similar, and easy to apply.
I found that the blue and green did dry down a little patchy, but it wasn’t too bad. When completely dry these do have a waxy sort of finish so if you prefer shiny I would apply a topcoat.
I just need to mention here that I’m sorry for the quality of the photos of Blue Shock and Green Light, my phone camera just freaked out and totally wouldn’t show the correct colours – so I had to take the pictures in low/weird light to try and get the colours correct.
First up is Coral Blaze which is a neon coral. It’s very pretty and summery.
Next is Pink Venom which is a hot pink neon. I love this one!
Next is Outrageous Orange which is a juicy orange neon.
The third shade I’m showing you is Yellow Flash which is a classic highlighter yellow.
Next is Green Light which is a bottle green shade. I wouldn’t really say this is a neon but it’s still a nice shade.
Last in this collection is Blue Shock. This one was so hard to photograph – this is the closest I could get. In real life this is a bright cerulean blue. I absolutely love it, but I don’t see it as a neon.
Overall I like this collection, although I’ve not felt wowed by it. But I do think the coral, pink and orange will be amazing in the summer.
This collection is something fun and a bit different from Barry M, and I think there’s lots of ways these can be used – pond mani’s, jelly sandwiches etc. I also want to see how they look over a silver base.
The Hi Vis neons are available now from the Barry M website!
Thanks for stopping by!
