I am continuing my exciting Barry M news by bringing you the Crystal Rock Collection!
This is a new 7 piece collection of textured nail polish! These nail paints are super glittery and textured and will be exclusive to Superdrug stores. They are also Vegan!
On first sight I did wonder if the Crystal Rocks were similar to the Molten Metal range, but they are actually way more textured and glittery, so look quite different to the MM’s once applied.
The formula of these babies is amazing! For polishes so packed full of glitter, they apply like a dream! The formula is buttery and you only need 1-2 coats. The only one I had slight issues with was White Moonstone – the formula was slightly on the thick side, but I’ve found this to be common with white polishes.
My swatches show 2 coats and I’ve included swatches with and without topcoat.
Without topcoat they dry down matte, sparkly and very textured. They do look really stunning!
However, they also look amazing with a layer of clear topcoat! The topcoat helps to enhance the shine and sparkle of the glitter even more. This might be an option for those who aren’t a fan of textured polishes.
First up is Tiger Eye which is a beautiful champagne glitter.
The next shade is Coral Sunstone which is a bright fiery coral with flashes of gold.
Next up is Pink Tourmaline which is hot pink with a gorgeous golden shimmer.
Here we have Red Jasper which is a classic blue toned red glitter which flashes pink and gold.
Next up is White Moonstone which is a silvery white base with a subtle sprinkling of champagne glitter.
The next polish in the range is Purple Agate which is a stunning deep amethyst shade with hints of gold and pink.
The final shade in this beautiful collection is Fluorite. This is a teal shade with green and gold flashes.
Here’s a few bonus out of focus pics to show you just how sparkly these polishes are!
I am really impressed with this collection! It’s so beautiful! I feel like my nails are adorned with jewels when I’m wearing these polishes.
I really hope there will be more shades added to this collection as the possibilities are endless with this type of nail polish.
The one thing I would recommend is that you wear a peel off basecoat with these, for easy removal. 😊
I think this release from Barry M really stands out against other mainstream nail brands, (dare I say this)- but in my (humble) opinion, the depth and beauty of these shades are coming pretty close to some of the more complex nail polishes that we see in the indie nail polish world.
So I’m feeling pretty excited I must say!
As mentioned above, the Crystal Rock Collection will be available online and in Superdrug stores for £3.99 each!
